    Dr. Danielle A. Mzyk, DVM, PhD, DACVCP. Clinical Veterinarian, Department of Population Health and Pathobiology, NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.

    Dr. Danielle Mzyk is a veterinary clinical pharmacologist and field service clinician at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Her work focuses on optimizing drug use in food-producing animals to improve therapeutic efficacy while preventing violative residues in the food supply.

    Her research explores pharmacokinetics, drug disposition, and residue avoidance in ruminant species, studying how disease, physiology, and management influence drug behavior. Dr. Mzyk also provides ambulatory field medicine services and integrates evidence-based pharmacology into veterinary education and clinical training.

    As a responder for the Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (FARAD), Dr. Mzyk contributes to national efforts to safeguard meat, milk, and eggs from contamination through science-based withdrawal recommendations.

    A graduate of NC State’s dual-degree DVM/PhD program, Dr. Mzyk also holds a BS in Zoology from NC State and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology. Before joining the faculty, she practiced mixed animal medicine in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, specializing in small ruminant health. She is a member of the AABP, AASRP, and AAVPT.
